Kimberly Jackson Obituary

Born to the late Cassie B. and Ben "LR" Powell, ahewas affectionally known as KimKIm by her nieces and nephews and will always be remembered as a free-sprited, kind-hearted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. In the middle of 2025, she was blessed with joy of becoming a grandmother, a role she embracedwith deep love and pride.

Before her health began to fail, you could often her fishing, mud riding, cooking, playing softball, planning family gathering, getting her nails done, shopping, and cheering proudly as " that Alabama Tide Rolled." You could also find her watching BET or Bravo! Yet above all else, what mattered most to her was being a devoted mother to her son Detrick Powell. Their bond was unbreakable, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. As her son lovingly shared. "She loved me and I loved her, and we had some great years together - and I did right by her."

KImKim truly lived life to the fullest, especially through the time she spent with her nieces and nephews, whom she adored deeply. Unknown to many, she attended and graduated from the University of Miami, a testament to her determination and strength. She was honorable, kind, more than fair, sweet, charismatic, loving, and endlessly giving. She was an incredible woman who lived life- and she loved us, her famil, more than words could ever express.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cassie B. and Ben "LR" Powell; three brothers, James "Nut" Powell, Charles  "Chuck", and Ben Powell: two nephews, Marcus Bragg and McAdoo; and one niece, Rosha Powell.
